Celebrating Alaska’s Wildlife Heritage Since 1987

Our Mission

At the Reindeer Farm, we are dedicated to preserving the spirit of Alaskan wildlife while creating lasting memories for our visitors. Whether you’re a local or traveling from afar, our farm is a place to learn, laugh, and connect with nature.

Meet the Founders: Tom and Gene Williams

The Reindeer Farm began as a dream of Tom Williams, who grew up on this very property in the 1950s when it was a dairy farm. Tom and his father, avid moose hunters, had a shared appreciation for Alaska’s wildlife. While it wasn’t possible to own moose in Alaska, the idea of a reindeer farm became a reality.

In 1987, Tom traveled to Northern Canada to purchase the farm’s first herd of 20 reindeer, which he and Gene lovingly acclimated to Alaskan life. Over the years, their passion and dedication grew the herd to as many as 300 reindeer. Today, the farm remains a thriving tribute to their vision and hard work.

A Family Legacy

Though Tom and Gene have since passed, their legacy lives on through their daughters. Since 2011, their oldest daughter, Denise Williams Hardy, and her family have carried the torch, expanding the farm and welcoming visitors from around the world.
